Brussels, 30/09/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Monday, 29 September, the Council of the EU adopted a regulation amending a number of the total allowable catches (TACs) and quotas over the course of the year in light of the latest scientific advice and international decisions. For anchovy in the Iberian zone, the definitive TAC is set at 22,871 tonnes for the period from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026 (see EUROPE 13695/10). For Norway lobster in the Bay of Biscay, the overall TAC has been revised downwards, going from 3,502 tonnes to 2,601 tonnes. As far as bluefin tuna is concerned, the regulation reflects the derogations that have been introduced, notably those for French artisanal fishing in the Gulf of Lion. The maximum number of authorised vessels and the allocation of quotas have been adjusted. For the EU, the TAC for bluefin tuna in the eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean is set at 22,778 tonnes allocated to Member States. The regulation: https://aeur.eu/f/iob (LC)
