24/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 22 July, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) published comprehensive airworthiness guidance for unmanned aircraft systems that are not subject to mandatory certification. This guidance, which includes new means of compliance, is subject to consultation. The means of compliance must complete the technical framework necessary to allow the operation of drones. They cover organisational aspects, the flight manual, structures and configuration control, with a particular focus on managing design changes. Stakeholders are invited to submit their comments by Friday 12 September. EASA has also published a reference table to facilitate the design verification report process for UAV designers.
