European Commission to closely monitor imports and exports of recycled steel

24/07/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 23 July, the European Commission announced the introduction of a customs surveillance system for the import and export of steel and recycled iron in the EU. In March, it announced measures to counter the shortage of scrap metals in the EU(see EUROPE B13603A14).
