02/06/25 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 2 June, the European Commission announced the addition of two new products to the Community register of quality schemes for agricultural products and foodstuffs. ‘Pulpo Seco de Adra’, recognised as a Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG), is a preparation based on dried octopus from Adra, in the province of Almería in south-east Spain. ‘Aydın Çam Fıstığı’, which has a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO), refers to pine nuts grown in the province of Aydın in western Turkey. Furthermore, on 28 May, the Commission approved the inclusion of French ‘Pérail’ in the register of Protected Geographical Indications (PGIs). This is a soft cheese made from whole sheep’s milk. (LC)
