02/06/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO) signed a cooperation agreement with the Ibero-American Association of Public Prosecutors (AIAMP), as well as bilateral agreements with the public prosecutors’ offices of Argentina, Brazil, Costa Rica, Panama, Paraguay and Peru, at the AIAMP Plenary Assembly on 28 and 29 May in Madrid (Spain). Supported by the European EL PAcCTO 2.0 programme, these agreements aim to strengthen judicial cooperation in the fight against transnational organised crime, corruption, money laundering and the recovery of illicit assets. “In order to dismantle organised crime groups judicial authorities must work together”, said Laura Kövesi, the European Chief Prosecutor, in a press release. The EPPO is responsible for prosecuting offences against the financial interests of the European Union. (NP)
