EU leaders ready to work with Leo XIV to promote “peace and human dignity”

The Presidents of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the European Council, António Costa, and the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, warmly congratulated American Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost on his election, on Thursday May 8, as the new head of the Catholic Church, under the name Leo XIV.
