Commissioner for human rights calls for release of Anar Mammadli and dozens of Azerbaijani dissidents

In a statement issued on Tuesday 29 April regarding the specific case of Anar Mammadli, an Azerbaijani human rights defender arrested a year ago on false charges, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights Michael O'Flaherty emphasised the “misuse of criminal law in defiance of the Rule of law” established by the European Court of Human Rights’ case law in relation to Azerbaijan.
