09/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – Following the publication of the ‘omnibus’ proposals in February (see EUROPE 13588/4), the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) launched a public call for input on the revision of the sustainability reporting standards (ESRS) provided for in the CSRD Directive on Tuesday 8 April. At the end of March, EFRAG received a specific mandate from the European Commission to provide technical advice with a view to the adoption of a delegated act aimed at revising and simplifying the existing ESRS. The technical opinion is due to be submitted to the Commission on 31 October. EFRAG is seeking public input from all stakeholders affected by the potential revisions, as well as feedback from the first wave of accountants who have implemented the standards in their Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) 2024 reports.
