Gas storage – Polish Presidency of EU Council proposes 10% flexibility in event of unfavourable market conditions

09/04/2025 (Agence Europe) – In the document published by the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU on Tuesday 8 April, which is intended to give a mandate to start negotiations with the European Parliament on extending the regulation on gas storage beyond 2025 (see EUROPE B13595A11), the Presidency finally states that a 10% flexibility can be allowed in the annual filling target of 90% “when market conditions are unfavourable for filling the underground gas storages”.
