26/03/2025 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 26 March, the European Commission decided to appoint Valérie Drezet-Humez as Director of General Affairs, Knowledge and Resources in the Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV). This service is “responsible for protecting, preserving and improving the environment for present and future generations and for promoting sustainable development in Europe and beyond”, according to the European Commission. The date on which the Frenchwoman will take up her post will be determined at a later date. Ms Drezet-Humez joined the European Commission in 1995 and is currently Principal Adviser for Synergies and Efficiencies in the Secretariat-General of the European Commission. (CG)
