Carmakers call on European leaders to lighten burden of compliance in reducing CO2 emissions

16/01/2025 (Agence Europe) – The European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) sent a letter to EU leaders on Thursday 16 January setting out the industry’s priorities. Ola Källenius, CEO of Mercedes-Benz and the new President of ACEA, has three priorities: - finding a way to reduce CO2 emissions without applying the penalties provided for in the 2019 regulation (see EUROPE B13554A6); - creating a regulatory framework to strengthen the competitiveness of European industries;...
