MEPs decide to enter into negotiations with EU Council on regulation to reduce pollution from plastic pellets

In a vote in the Environment Committee on Thursday 16 January, MEPs decided to begin negotiations with the Council of the European Union and the European Commission on the regulation on plastic pellets (see EUROPE B13543A7). The text’s rapporteur, César Luena (S&D, Spanish), said afterwards in a post on the social network Bluesky that Parliament’s priority in the negotiations “will be to include maritime transport in this regulation”.
