EU prepares to make abandonment of its online dispute resolution platform official

13/11/2024 (Agence Europe) – The ambassadors of the Member States to the European Union, meeting in Coreper on Wednesday 13 November, adopted without discussion the draft regulation which ratifies the abandonment of the European online dispute resolution platform. This decision had already been taken by MEPs, without amending the text, at the March plenary session (see EUROPE 13370/27). The purpose of the regulation is to repeal Regulation (EU) No 524/2013 by putting an end to the ODR platform and the obligations associated with it, due to a lack of results and with a view to modernisation. Validation of this draft regulation will be an A item at the ‘General Affairs’ Council on Tuesday 19 November. (IS)
