13/11/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 12 November, the European Commission launched a call for contributions on the Digital Product Passport (DPP), introduced as part of the ecodesign regulation (see EUROPE 13307/4). It should provide easy access to digital information on the sustainability, circularity and legal compliance of products entering or being produced in the EU. The Commission intends to adopt a delegated act laying down rules on how DPP service providers should operate in order to ensure the governance of the DPP in the broadest sense. This digital passport is also a fundamental element of the future directive on toy safety (see EUROPE 13410/17). This call for contributions is open until 10 December and will be followed by a public consultation. See the call for evidence: https://aeur.eu/f/ea9 (IS)
