04/11/24 (Agence Europe) – On the second anniversary of the signing of the Cessation of Hostilities Agreement (CoHA) between the Ethiopian government and the Tigray People’s Liberation Front, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, called on the signatories on Saturday 2 November to redouble their efforts to ensure the continued implementation of the agreement, for the benefit of all Ethiopians living in the north of the country. “The implementation of the CoHA has delivered on important developments, such as the restoration of basic services, access to humanitarian aid and the return of some internally displaced persons”, said Mr Borrell. “We continue to urge for a peaceful resolution to ongoing conflicts in the country”, he added, urging all parties to engage in the national dialogue.
