Questioned in writing by MEP Ana Miranda Paz (Greens/EFA, Spanish), Wopke Hoekstra, temporary European Commissioner for Transport, pointed out that the first annual progress report on the implementation of the European Transport Corridors is due in mid-2025 (see EUROPE 13478/29).
Under the new provision which came into force in July 2024, the European coordinators will present this report to the European Parliament, the EU Council, the Commission and the Member States. It will report on the progress made on key priorities and investments, the nature of the problems encountered in implementing them and potential solutions.
In addition, the coordinators will organise a corridor forum twice a year with representatives from all the ministries and regions along the corridor, infrastructure managers from all modes of transport, maritime and inland port authorities and urban nodes. This forum is the platform for informing and consulting the corridor’s stakeholders on the progress made in completing the trans-European transport network (TEN-T), the challenges ahead, the priorities to be set, and so on.
