26/07/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 26 July, the European Commission approved €25 million in Slovakian aid to support livestock farmers in the wake of Russia’s war against Ukraine. The aid was approved under the temporary framework for state aid to countries in crisis and transition, adopted by the Commission on 9 March 2023 and amended on 20 November 2023 and 2 May 2024. The aid consists of limited amounts of aid in the form of direct grants. The measure will be open to livestock producers who risk losing their financial liquidity as a result of the difficulties on agricultural markets caused by Russia’s war against Ukraine. (LC)
