EU’s ‘Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs’ programme celebrates 15 years and over 12,000 successful collaborations

On Friday 26 July, to mark its 15th anniversary, the European Commission’s Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) programme published data celebrating its achievements.

Connecting over 24,000 participants from across the EU and beyond since its launch in 2009, this programme, coordinated by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), has fostered exchanges between new and experienced entrepreneurs to enrich entrepreneurial skills and stimulate international cooperation and innovation.

Over this period, the EYE programme has achieved more than 12,000 successful collaborations between young and experienced entrepreneurs, enabling new entrepreneurs to gain practical experience and develop international networks. EYE also recorded more than 50,000 registrations.

The programme has a 98% recommendation rate and is recognised for its essential skills and growth opportunities.

Young entrepreneurs can spend up to six months with an experienced entrepreneur abroad to gain practical business knowledge. The programme also offers monthly financial assistance to cover expenses abroad.

According to EYE, host entrepreneurs benefit from fresh perspectives, new skills, innovative ideas and opportunities for cross-border expansion.

Applications are open all year round.
