16/07/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 16 July, the European Commission announced the registration of a new Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG) from Romania. This specialty is ‘Sardeluța marinată’, made by marinating sprat. The processed and marinated fish are immersed in a different marinade for each of the three prepared product varieties, which differ in terms of taste and organoleptic qualities. These are ‘Sardeluță marinată’ with wine, ‘Sardeluță marinată’ with sunflower oil and ‘Sardeluță marinată’ with sunflower oil with chili. This new designation will join the list of 3,617 agricultural products already protected at EU level. (LC)
