16/07/24 (Agence Europe) – Following a power cut in south-eastern continental Europe on 21 June, the European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E) set up an expert group comprising the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and the relevant regulators in the region. The group met for the first time on 15 July to investigate this incident, which occurred in the continental European power system region and caused a voltage collapse in a large part of the transmission systems of Albania, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, followed by a total blackout. The rest of continental Europe was not significantly affected, and voltage on the 400 kV network was restored within a few hours. ENTSO-E will analyse the data and publish a final report. (PLD)
