10/07/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 9 July, the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, condemned all violations of international law and called for a ceasefire following the bombing of a school in the Gaza Strip that was sheltering civilians. 29 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday in this attack east of Khan Younès, according to Hamas figures reported by AFP. “For how long are innocent civilians going to bear the brunt of this conflict? It is imperative to immediately reach a ceasefire to bring respite to hundreds of stranded civilians, free all the hostages, deliver the needed humanitarian aid”, said Mr Borrell on X. In recent days, other schools have been hit by strikes by the Israeli army, which claims to be targeting “terrorist infrastructures”. (BD)
