08/07/24 (Agence Europe) – EU Member States will accept A.TR movement certificates issued electronically by the Turkish competent authorities bearing a QR code, and without a wet-ink signature, starting Monday 8 July. This measure is pending the adoption of a decision by the EU-Turkey Customs Cooperation Committee, with retroactive effect, currently in preparation. The A.TR movement certificate is proof of compliance with the provisions on the free movement of products between the EU and Turkey. This document must be endorsed at the time of export by the customs office of the goods to which it relates. The EU and Turkey acknowledge that the experience under the exceptional measures adopted due to the Covid-19 pandemic has been positive and consider that the best practices introduced in these exceptional circumstances should be maintained.
