On Wednesday 26 June, the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) announced its collaboration with Europacable, representing Europe’s leading wire and cable producers, and T&D Europe, representing Europe’s network technology suppliers, to ensure the efficient development of Europe’s electricity networks.
In response to the EU Network Action Plan (see EUROPE 13302/8), in particular Action 13, the three entities aim to increase efficiency by accelerating network deployment and reducing redundancies in the planning and execution of high-voltage terrestrial and submarine network projects.
The measures include the harmonisation of network project development practices across Europe, including technical standardisation and network codes.
“Our aim is to identify best practices and introduce indicators of their expected impact on accelerating network rollout, so that actions can be prioritised accordingly,” ENTSO-E explains in a press release. (Original version in French by Pauline Denys)
