20/06/2024 (Agence Europe) – As part of its protection against cyber attacks, The 'EU Agency for Cybersecurity' (ENISA) announced on Thursday 20 June that it had carried out a large-scale exercise to counter attacks targeting energy infrastructures. According to Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for Internal Market, this critical sector suffered more than 150 cyber attacks in 2023. The ‘Cyber Europe’ exercise brought together 30 national cybersecurity agencies, a number of EU agencies, bodies and networks, and more than 1,000 experts covering a range of areas from incident response to decision-making, the European Commission, who took part in the exercice, said in a press release. A detailed report on the operation will show the opportunities for improving the process and the responses made during the exercise. (IS)
