20/06/2024 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Trade has expanded its ‘Access2Markets’ portal to include a public procurement tool called ‘Procurement for Buyers’, the European Commission announced on Thursday 20 June. The portal is to provide contracting entities with comprehensive information on the rules that apply to international candidates. The instrument on international public procurement may, for example, restrict access to companies from certain third countries. The ‘Procurement for Buyers’ platform will make this kind of information clear, as well as data on obligations relating to the origin of products and services, for example. A portal for candidates is already available to help companies find information on access to public contracts in third countries (‘Procurement for Suppliers’).
