29/04/24 (Agence Europe) – The French Road Transport Federation (FNTR) published, on Thursday 25 April, its recommendations for the European elections in its ‘White Paper’. The priorities are to: - ensure that the ‘Mobility Package’ is applied in all 27 Member States; - decarbonise road transport through the energy mix and the greening of fleets; - make the driving profession more attractive to young people and women; - facilitate access to innovation and digital technology; - prepare the ground for EU enlargement; - enable harmonised implementation and application of the rules on the transport of live animals. Florence Dupasquier, Vice-President of the FNTR, said that the federation was working towards “greater convergence of rules within the EU to ensure fair competition between European operators’.
