29/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 29 April, the European Commission announced that it had approved a change to Sweden's regional aid map, initially approved on 15 December 2021, until 31 December 2027. This amendment includes the possibility for Sweden to designate new areas eligible for regional aid under the derogations permitted by Article 107(3)(c) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU (“zone c”). The amendment extends an already designated predefined “zone c”, adding parts of the Örebro, Västra Götalands and Värmlands regions and an already designated non-predefined “zone c”, adding part of the Kronobergs region. The maximum amount of aid for large companies is 20% of investment costs for predefined zone “c” and 15% for non-predefined zone “c”. (EV)
