COP28, negotiations prolonged due to issue of phasing out fossil fuels

Negotiations at COP28 in Dubai were due to end on the morning of Tuesday 12 December, as declared by the President of the event, Sultan Al-Jaber. However, the delegations continued discussions and negotiations throughout the day in an attempt to reach a compromise on the controversial issue of phasing out fossil fuels.
