Thawing of €10 billion in EU funds for Hungary still under consideration

While press leaks suggested the imminent release of €10 billion in European funds - hitherto frozen for failure to respect the rule of law - for Hungary, the Vice-President of the European Commission, Věra Jourová, did not confirm this information at the end of the College meeting on Tuesday 12 December.

Speaking to the press, Ms Jourová gave assurance that the progress declared by Budapest was still being examined within the EU institution, without giving any further details.
