29/11/23 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 28 November, the Commission said in a press release that the European Union and Montenegro had signed a new bilateral agreement on the Joint Action Plan on Counter-Terrorism. The Commissioner for Home Affairs, Ylva Johansson, and Montenegro’s Minister of the Interior, Danilo Šaranović signed the agreement. It aims to strengthen cooperation between Montenegro and the EU in the fight against terrorism and the fight against and prevention of violent extremism. “Montenegro and the EU will work together on the removal of terrorist content online, terrorism financing, explosive precursors, critical entities resilience and supporting Montenegro to align with EU legislation on counter-terrorism.” (SP)
