On Wednesday 29 November, the European Innovation Council (EIC) announced that the Programme Managers had unveiled five strategic plans for the portfolios of the EIC’s 2021 Pathfinder Challenges grants programme.
This grant programme supports the development of high-risk, high-reward projects for innovation breakthroughs.
The EIC Programme Managers are responsible for identifying breakthrough technologies and innovations, managing the portfolios of EIC-funded projects and bringing stakeholders together.
The strategic plans are dynamic documents, created on the basis of collaboration between the various projects in the portfolio, which define the portfolio’s objectives, in particular to fill gaps.
These strategic plans also include portfolio activities aimed at achieving these objectives and implementing them at different levels (technology, transition from technology to innovation, communication and dissemination, and ethical issues).
Finally, these plans also contain governance elements designed to ensure the effective implementation of the portfolio activities.
