Ahead of COP28, EU is fine-tuning its position towards rapid eradication of fossil fuels and boosting of renewable energies by 2030

As part of the preparations for the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), to be held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates, from 30 November to 12 December 2023), the European Union’s Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper) examined the Council’s preliminary conclusions on Wednesday 4 October. These conclusions are intended to define the EU’s position in the run-up to the conference.
