06/10/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 5 October, Finland sent the European Commission its revised post-Covid-19 recovery plan, which includes a ‘REPowerEU’ chapter aimed at speeding up the energy transition and reducing dependence on Russian fossil fuels (see EUROPE 13141/30). This chapter aims to contribute to Finland’s goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2035 through the development of hydrogen production and renewable energies (offshore wind farm in Åland, rationalisation of the granting of investment permits). The revised Finnish plan now has €1.95 billion in subsidies alone. Further information: https://aeur.eu/f/8y3 (MB)
