14/07/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission authorised, on Thursday 13 July, the acquisition of sole control of Nissan Austria (Austria) and Nissan Poland (Poland), each of which supplies Nissan vehicles, spare parts and accessories, by the Spanish company Astara Mobility, S.L.. Astara is jointly controlled by Bergé y Compañia S.A. (Spain) and Mitsubishi Corporation (Japan). Astara distributes spare parts, after-sales and financing services in Europe, Latin America and the Philippines. The two acquisitions constitute a single concentration. Following a simplified examination of the proposed acquisition, notified on 21 June, the Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition did not raise any competition concerns: the combined position of the companies on the market resulting from the merger would remain limited.
