14/07/2023 (Agence Europe) – On the occasion of the European Union - Latin America and Caribbean Summit, to be held on 17 and 18 July in Brussels, the European Investment Bank will announce the signing of several loans totalling €800 million for climate action projects in Argentina, Brazil and Chile. Among the projects will be the financing of the first-ever residential mortgage loan for efficient housing units outside the EU, the development of renewable hydrogen, the improvement of electricity transmission networks, support for renewable energies and energy efficiency, the bioeconomy, integrated waste management and the installation of photovoltaic solar power plants. All these programmes are part of the EU’s Global Gateway initiative, which supports initiatives to improve global and regional connectivity in the digital, climate, transport, health, energy and education sectors.
