27/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – Representatives from the United States and the EU met in Brussels on Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 June to discuss cooperation in the space sector. The discussion focused on “opportunities to deepen [...] space security cooperation in a mutually beneficial way, including space cybersecurity and multilateral engagements to promote norms, rules and principles for responsible behaviour in outer space”. The dialogue also provided an opportunity for a bilateral update on respective policy initiatives in view of finding synergies and enhanced strands of cooperation. The two sides discussed important cooperation on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), Earth Observation and its applications, Space Situational Awareness, the safety of spaceflight as well as long-term sustainability of space activities.
