European Commission submits proposal for EU Council decision to open negotiations with Washington on agreement on critical minerals

The European Commission calls on the EU Council to adopt its decision authorising the formal opening of negotiations with the United States for an agreement on critical minerals. On Wednesday 14 June, it put forward a proposal for an EU Council decision accompanied by negotiating directives, which outline the contours of the future agreement.
