26/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Wednesday 26 April that it did not oppose the notified acquisition of joint control of intu Milton Keynes Limited by HSBC Bank Plc, a subsidiary of the British international banking group HSBC, and the insurance group Axa S.A. intu Milton Keynes Limited is the owner and operator of the Midsummer Place shopping centre in Milton Keynes, UK. The Commission concluded that the merger complied with the EU Merger Regulation (EC No 139/2004). More specifically, the Commission found that the proposed merger would not raise competition concerns as intu MK has no business or assets within the European Economic Area.
