26/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission raised an additional €7 billion of EU bonds in its fifth syndicated transaction on Wednesday 26 April. This is a new 15-year bond issue, maturing in 2038. The oversubscription rate was more than 9 times, with a total amount of €63.5 billion. This operation will finance the Next Generation EU recovery programme as well as macrofinancial assistance to Ukraine, but also to Moldova and Jordan. With this new operation, the Commission has succeeded in raising almost €50 billion regarding the funding target of €80 billion for the first half of 2023 (see EUROPE 13137/21). (PLD)
