14/02/2023 (Agence Europe) – A public consultation is open online until midnight on 9 March on a European Commission implementing regulation to adapt the EU regulation (2019/1021) on persistent organic pollutants (POPs), those eternal highly toxic chemical pollutants, to the EU’s international commitments under the Stockholm Convention. The implementing regulation will amend Annex I of the EU Regulation to include PFHxS, its salts and PFHxS-related compounds as substances that are subject to certain restrictions. The limit value is set at 1mg/kg for PFHxS and its salts and 40mg/kg for PFHxS-related components (see EUROPE 13049/4, 12976/1).
