23/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – The first interinstitutional meeting (‘trilogue’) on the anti-coercion regulation will take place on the afternoon of 28 November in the European Parliament. The EU Council adopted its negotiating mandate on 16 November (see EUROPE 13064/5), and the European Parliament voted on the report by Bernd Lange (S&D, German) in October (see EUROPE 13039/19). MEPs hope for quick adoption of the regulation. The role of the Member States and the Commission in the procedure for imposing countermeasures on a third country exercising economic coercion on the EU or one of its Member States should be the subject of much discussion (see EUROPE 13064/4).
