European Parliament calls on EU to be more active in country

On Wednesday 23 November, MEPs called on the EU to step up its diplomatic efforts to restore peace and security in Libya.

In the report by Giuliano Pisapia (S&D, Italian), which was adopted (454 votes in favour, 130 against and 54 abstentions), the European Parliament - stressing the need for a stable political transition and unity among the country’s warring factions - calls on the EU to help Libya unify through an appropriate constitutional reform process.
