The European Commission and the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC) launched, on Tuesday 22 November, a call for expression of interest in the framework of the deployment of the European infrastructure of cross-border security operations centres.
This call is the first phase in the creation of a European infrastructure of cross-border Security Operations Centres (SOC). It is intended to select entities in EU Member States to host and operate cross-border cyber threat detection platforms. Each of these entities will bring together entities from several Member States.
“Speed of detection is a key factor in responding to cyber threats. With the deployment of a European SOC infrastructure, we are improving reaction times and facilitating cooperation in order to eventually achieve a true European cyber shield”, commented the Commissioner for the Internal Market, Thierry Breton.
The future cross-border security operations centres will have a budget of €30 million under the Digital Europe programme. (Original version in French by Thomas Mangin)
