22/11/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday, 22 November, the European Commission disbursed a second instalment of €2.5 billion in preferential loans as part of the €5 billion exceptional macrofinancial assistance package to Ukraine (see EUROPE 13045/12). With this payment, the total aid disbursed to Kyiv since Russia began its armed aggression against the country in February has reached €6.7 billion. The third and final instalment of €500 million under this assistance is expected to be disbursed in December, according to the European Commission. On Thursday, the European Parliament is expected to come down in favour of granting €18 billion in further assistance over the whole of 2023 (see EUROPE 13064/3). (MB)
