07/07/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission on Thursday 7 July called on European telecoms operators to extend the commitment made in the joint declaration signed on 8 April (see EUROPE 12929/3) to secure and stabilise roaming and international calls for Ukrainian refugees. The initial three-month agreement is due to end on Friday 8 July. During this period, the 38 operators involved distributed some 2.5 million SIM cards to Ukrainian nationals who had fled their country and set up Wi-Fi access points at the borders between Ukraine and EU Member States.
