20/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – According to an EUIPO press release dated Thursday 19 May, the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and India’s Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their cooperative relationship. The agreement includes the exchange of information and best practices, collaboration on training programmes, the exchange of experts and techniques, as well as the development of automation and modernisation projects in the field of intellectual property. On 8 May 2021, EU and Indian leaders resumed negotiations on a trade agreement (see EUROPE 12716/4) and launched separate negotiations on an investment protection agreement and a geographical indications agreement.
