Provisional agreement on Single Window for Customs between EU Council and European Parliament

The Council of the EU and the European Parliament reached a provisional agreement on Thursday 19 May on a single window for customs, which will make it easier for the various authorities involved in clearing goods to exchange electronic information provided by economic operators. 

The aim is to facilitate international trade, shorten customs clearance times, and reduce the risk of fraud. The proposal will also help to reduce the administrative burden on operators.
