04/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – The North Atlantic Council approved on Tuesday 3 May the appointment of US General Christopher G. Cavoli as Supreme Allied Commander Europe. General Cavoli is currently serving as Commander of U.S. Land Forces in Europe and Africa. He previously served as Commanding General of the US Army in Europe. Once the national confirmation processes have been completed, he will take up his post and succeed his compatriot Tod D. Wolters, who has held the post since May 2019. According to a NATO press release, the change of command ceremony is expected to take place at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe in Mons in the summer of 2022. (CG)
