04/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – The President of the S&D group in the European Parliament, Iratxe García Pérez (Spain), expressed, on Wednesday 4 May, during the Parliament’s plenary session, her support for American women, as the Supreme Court of the United States of America considers suspending this constitutional right. “I want to use one minute of this plenary of the European Parliament to send a message from millions of European voices to the women of the United States that we stand with them, that there is no turning back”, she said. To a standing ovation from progressive groups, she continued: “We must guarantee our rights and we stand with all women around the world to defend our rights. Our body, our right. Conservative and Europhobic groups, on the other hand, remained seated. (AD)
