04/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – The total value of EU agri-food trade reached €28.3 billion in January 2022, up 25% on the same period last year and up 16% on the three-year average, according to the European Commission’s latest report (https://aeur.eu/f/1h8 ) on EU agri-food trade, published on Tuesday 3 May. Exports reached €15.8 billion while imports were valued at €12.5 billion, increases of 16% and 38% respectively. In January, the trend of falling exports and rising imports of agri-food products continued according to the Commission. This has resulted in a significant decrease in the trade balance, which is down by 50% compared to September 2021. (LC)
